Fleetwood Mask the ultimate Fleetwood Mac tribute band

Fleetwood Mac to Receive MusiCares Person of the Year Award

On January 26, Fleetwood Mac will join luminaries like Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, and Stevie Wonder as recipients of the MusiCares Person of the Year Award, in a ceremony at Radio City Music Hall two days before the 60th Annual Grammies. They will be, in fact, the first band to receive the award (as opposed to an individual musician), and are slated to perform in their classic Rumours-era incarnation. A stellar lineup of artists, including Keith Urban, John Legend, Haim, Lorde, and Harry Styles will pay tribute by performing some of their classic songs. Styles, formerly of One Direction, has covered “The Chain” (see above), while Lorde was recently quoted on WTF With Marc Maron saying “I’m obsessed with Fleetwood Mac Peter Green … It’s the greatest s**t ever.”

MusiCares is an organization affiliated with the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences that provides medical and financial assistance for musicians, who often have no access to resources like health insurance. Mick Fleetwood said in a statement “It’s a tremendous honor…we applaud and celebrate MusiCares’ guiding principles of giving musicians a helping hand and a place to turn in times of need.”

Harry Styles, seen here performing “The Chain,” is one of the artists that will honor Fleetwood Mac at the MusiCares event
